As you may know, I am not currently in school because of financial headaches. I was planning on going to IUK, but because of a lot of "unknowns" I decided to apply to Purdue University.
Today, I submitted my application online, and I am trying to get into the CPT program in the School of Technology or the Applied Meteorology program in the School of Agronomy.

Well, I sat through the 6 hours of pure disorganized CRAP they had, went to see about registering, went to Financial Aid to find out if my stuff would be done in time, then went back to register and get my ID.
The lady at financial aid pulled my paperwork out of the stack, verified it, then told me to go ahead and register. She said that if my funds aren't in by the fee deadline, they'd make sure I wasn't dropped from my classes. The one thing they're not going to help with is books. I have to check my other source of aid and see if they'll take care of it. If not, I have to find some other way to get my $450 worth of books.
I told soupy that I'd be moving in next week sometime. I discussed this with Mom and Dad over lunch, and neither really had any argument.

Tomorrow at 4:30AM, I will be peeling my butt off my bed, washing up, and leaving for Kokomo.
This extra effort will probably(hopefully) be wasted, because my financial aid paperwork wasn't completed in time. I'll find out tomorrow between 8:00AM and noon if I am going to school this fall.
Quite honestly, I don't want to start 'till spring. There's just too much up in the air right now for me to start making the 2 hour drive on Tuesday and Thursday to go to class, then come back home, bust my butt trying to get my homework done, then doing work for my customers.
I figure that by January, the worst of the winter weather will be over, I will be (hopefully) caught up with work, and I'll be able to afford an apartment within 30 minutes of campus.

Location: Indiana University, Kokomo Campus - Kelley Student Center
Item of Business: Financial Aid
Description:
I went to the financial aid office to drop off some paperwork and to check on the status of everything else. When I asked the gentleman if they had received my paperwork from the Vocational Rehabillitation office, he said, "If we did it won't matter until this stuff has cleared. Have you registered for classes yet?"
I replied with "no", to which he responded something that I was fearing:
"If you register now, you'll have to pay for your classes up front, then be reimbursed when your aid is processed."
Typically, it takes 4 to 6 weeks for that kind of thing to clear, so I highly doubt I'll be going there this fall.

Location: Home, Rensselaer
Item of Business: Reporting the status to Mom and Dad
Description:
When I informed Mom about it, I reinstated the point that it is primarily IUK's fault, considering I only received anything from them about my financial aid once, then never heard anything more after that. Add to this the fact that all the advisors have been out of the office for the summer, and you've got a nice case of "It's all their fault".
Mom suggested that I move to Kansas or an area like that, and study meterology. After a bit of discussion, the thought was changed to Purdue University. I would much rather go to Purdue than some out of state school, because #1 - I have all my finances taken care of by in-state grants and assistance programs, #2 - I'll be close enough to home, and #3 - A friend has already told me that I can live there until I can afford my own place, and his place is only about 15 minutes from the Purdue campus.

I am taking off work tomorrow because I have that stupid C++ homework to get done. In a way I'm looking forward to it, in another way I'm not.
I need the break though. As far as I know, that's all I have to get done this week.

I think this is the first I've posted in this category.
So yeah, CIS203 still sucks. Although, I have gotten a decent project done to add to my portfolio. You can find it here. Don't laugh at the tutorial, and I already know that it sucks having to enter your info for every order, and that you can't delete items from your basket, and that you can't print out a final report of your order. Aside from the sucky tutorial, I did it almost exactly as the assignment was written. I've got some big plans for this project when I get more time though.

Ok, so here's the deal.
Today, in speech class, this chick walked in late, immideatly started talking to the chick she was sitting next to, at normal volume, and made it so the rest of the class couldn't hear the video we were supposed to be watching. Strike one.
Later in class, the instructor was talking about our pursuasive speech we have to do in a couple of weeks. The chick had the balls to ask, in the middle of class, if she could do her speech on one of the topics from the restricted topics list. The instructor asked her what it was, and the chick said it was about taking God out of the pledge of allegance. One of the other students asked her what her views were on it, and she said she thought it should be taken out, because God doesn't belong there. Strike two.
A little bit later, we were recapping the video we watched, and the instructor asked us what we thought of the first part of it. The chick was like "That lady needs to shut the f*ck up and go back to church."... WTF?! She had to add to it, "I hated that stupid f*cking cross she was wearing. That shouldn't be allowed when you're giving a speech." Strike three, you're out.
My biff:
1) STFU!!! When you show up to class late all the time, at least have the courtesy to not make a scene out of it.
2) You think God should be taken out of the pledge? Ahem... Let's have a little history review here... What was the reason for the pilgrims to come here and start a new world? Oh yeah, its called RELIGION!!! I'm not a big fanatic on religion, but I do have my faith and beliefs. As the pilgrims did, I believe that there is a God, and that he needs to be included in portions of our life.
3) I am paying for the class, so I would like to hear what the instructor has to say. SHUT UP!!!

Last night in class, I was taking notes (C++ mind you) like this:
Meanwhile, the elves were down by the waterway, constructing objects from classes. What they did not know though, was the unforseen dangers that lied ahead while de-referencing. Soon, it would all fall into the stream and float away.

This sad.. In speech class today, I started taking notes for things to post here.
Here we go:
1) It would be really good if people would be considerate of others when talking. DON'T INTERRUPT!
2) Stay in your seat during class! Don't get up and walk around.
3)
4) Sit down!!
5) Show up to class on time and SHUT UP!

3)
Teacher: Who has their syllabus?
Student: I do!
Teacher: Would you like to read this section for the class?
Student: Oh... No, someone else can.
4) Sit down!!
5) Show up to class on time and SHUT UP!

I've got some stuff to post later about speech class. It really pissed me off today, and I plan on doing this in all my classes...
